Ruse Burglary Strikes Palos Park Woman

A man approached a woman's home on Southwest Highway claiming to be from a tree-trimming service while her home was robbed of jewelry Monday afternoon, police said.

Police are searching for two people who scammed a Palos Park woman Monday.

The woman was lured out by a man claiming to be from a contracted tree trimming service, Palos Park Police Chief Joe Miller said. The crook said trees on her property would be trimmed on Tuesday and he wanted to show her which would be cut.

While the ruse burglar attempted to get the woman out of the house, another person snuck inside and took jewelry from a bedroom.
