Man With Road Rage Punches Elderly Woman: Police Blotter

Palos Heights police report, Oct. 14.

A Sauk Village man is charged with felony aggravated battery of a senior citizen after an altercation over a traffic incident.

On Monday, Oct. 14 at 6:39 a.m., Bernard E. Anderson Jr., 58, of Sauk Village, began following a car he believed cut him off at Route 83 and Central, police said.

When both cars stopped at a red light at Route 83 and Harlem, Anderson got out of his car and approached the car in front of him, police said. He then punched the 73-year-old woman driving the car in the face with a closed fist, police said. He turned around and got back in his car.

The woman had her grandson in her car and called 911 as she followed Anderson's car, police said. He was stopped in the 7800 block of Route 83, was arrested and charged, police said.
