Pot Busts, DUI Arrests and One Guy Who Stole OTC Medicine: Blotter

OTC Medicine Snatched

Someone grabbed several packs of over-the-counter medicine at about 7:56 a.m. inside Jewel, 7127 W. 127th St., and left without paying for them.

Pot Charge for Crestwood Drive

Dan Sullivan, 22, of the 13300 block of Crestwood Drive, Crestwood, was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a seat belt, according to a police report. Police said they stopped Sullivan at about 8:08 p.m. near 7200 W. 127th St. for not wearing a seat belt. Officers speaking with Sullivan allegedly found him in possession of a "joint" and marijuana. They also said they found drug paraphernalia in the car. Sullivan was arrested, booked and given a $1,500 bond. He is due in court on April 2.

Frankfort Driver Charged With DUI

Jacob J. Reyling, 53, of the 24300 block of South 80th Avenue, Frankfort, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and improper lane use, according to a police report. Police said they stopped Reyling's vehicle for speeding and improper lane use at about 12:21 a.m. near 11900 S. Harlem Avenue. Reyling showed signs that he had been drinking, police said. He performed and failed field sobriety tests. Reyling was arrested, booked and given a court date of March 5.

Two DUI Charges After Speeding, Improper Lane Use Stop

Jennifer M. Westlove, 32, of the 200 block of Meadowbrook Lane, Hinsdale, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and improper lane use, according to a police report. Police stopped Westlove at about 3:15 a.m. near 6300 W. 127th St. for speeding and improper lane use. Officers said the driver showed signs that she had been drinking. Westlove allegedly failed field sobriety tests. She was arrested, booked and given a $1,000 bond.

SUNDAY, FEB. 10

Marijuana Bust for Hickory Hills

Amran M. Rafati, 29, of the 9000 block of Forest Drive, Hickory Hills, was charged with possession of cannabis and driving without a seat belt, according to police. Rafati was stopped at about 8:10 p.m. near 11900 S. Harlem Ave. for not wearing a seat belt. Police said they could smell an odor of cannabis coming from the vehicle. Officers later found cannabis inside the vehicle. Rafati was arrested, booked and given a $1,500 bond. He is due in court April 2.
