Possible Murder Weapon Recovered in Palos Township Slayings

A source says the suspected murder weapon has been found.

A source close to the investigation says that the possible weapon used in the murder of a Palos Township couple has been recovered.

Dive crews had been searching a pond next to the couple's home on the 12700 block of 81st Court in unincorporated Palos Park in the hopes of finding the murder weapon. Their search appears to have been successful.

The source indicates that the weapon found was an axe that included a hammer-like end.
