The officer told the men to open the door to which they complied. Asked what they were doing in the stall together, they stated, “nothing, why,” police said.

Police said there were multiple pieces of blood-spotted toilet paper on the floor. Ores allegedly denied having illegal drugs and drug equipment in his possession.

The officer looked in the bathroom stall and found a metal container, which was still burning from cooking heroin, and a syringe. Police said both were hidden inside the baby-changing table, reports said.

Upon finding the drug equipment, the officer said that Ores admitted that he had just injected heroin into his left forearm.

Police also found six empty plastic bags and four full dime bags of heroin inside Rauen’s wallet, reports said. Rauen also allegedly made the comment that he gets “five baggies for $40.” Both men were taken into custody.

According to the report, Ores’s fiancé told police that Ores met Rauen at McDonald’s to retrieve his wallet. The two men began arguing when she called to tell her fiancé to come back to their nearby motel room.

The fiancé told police that Ores said he was on his way back and had put his cell phone in his back pocket but forgot to shut it off. She heard Ores ask Rauen if he had a syringe or any heroin, police said.

The men left the parking lot and went inside McDonald’s. The fiancé called 911 and alleged that both men were possibly in possession of drugs.

The officer field-tested the baggies using and drug kit and they came back positive for heroin, the report said.

Both were being held pending a bond hearing.
