Palos Park Police Step Up Patrols for Super Bowl Weekend

Palos Park police remind residents to designate a sober drive or call a cab following this weekend's festivities.

Palos Park police will be patrolling carefully Feb. 1–3, paying particular attention to moving violations and those not wearing seat belts. Officers will keep an eye out for speeding, following too closely, improper lane changing, reckless driving and driving under the influence

Police Commissioner Dan Polk reminds residents to designate a sober driver around Super Bowl Sunday, "because fans don't let fans drive drunk."

“If you’re attending a Super Bowl party or watching the game at a sports bar or restaurant, please designate a sober driver, or plan another way to get home safely before the party begins," Polk said in a release.

If you are in Palos Park, and have had too much to drink, you can contact Palos Park Police at 708-448-2191 or 708-259-1035 and they’ll ensure you get home safely.

My buddy Dan the Man...we agree! I'm the sober living guy who doesn't embibe mood altering substances...who believes "nothing good happens after" midnight...or more succinctly... ANY time of the day or night of months back! Yes..."You're papers please" is quite an ugly picture for these revenue grabbers to attempt in the name of love. "Professional courtesy" is a standard we drivers don't enjoy when the checkpoint checks them. Oh gee...I'm just a disgruntled guy that got "pinched". NOT!
