Palos Park Man Charged with DUI in Crash that Killed Motorcyclist

State police say Andrew Henderson, 24, of Palos Park, was drunk when he set off a chain-reaction crash that killed Ron Oswald of Minooka.

A week after a three-vehicle crash that killed a Minooka motorcyclist and injured a family of four, a man is facing a DUI charge.

Illinois State Police said Andrew Henderson, 24, of the 0-100 block of Old Creek Road, is charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol in the crash that killed Ron Oswald, 57. Initially, Henderson was charged only with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

According to police, Henderson’s Dodge Durango was traveling west on Route 126 at about 2:30 p.m. July 14 when it struck a Nissan Altima waiting to turn left onto County Line Road in Plainfield. The impact pushed the Altima into the eastbound lane, where it hit Oswald’s Harley-Davidson.
