Palos Park Dunkin' Donuts Burglary Caught on Video

For all his work, the thief made off with only a $2 roll of nickels, police said.

Police say that the Palos Park Dunkin' Donuts was burglarized in the early morning hours of Nov. 5 and it was all caught on video.

Around 12:30 p.m. video surveillance inside the shop, 11901 S. 80th Ave., caught an unknown man prying open the rear door, according to police. A one-inch pry mark was left at the scene.

The man then proceeded to the manager's alcove where he was caught on video rummaging through the area and an open top portion of a safe, police said. The man also went through an open cash drawer in the front cash register before leaving, police said.

All told, the burglar made out with only a $2 roll of nickels.

As seen in the captured video, the suspect is wearing a black ski mask, black gloves, and a bandana covering his face. He was carrying a small flashlight and had a black pouch on the left side of his belt, police said.

Investigators believed that this could be the same person suspected in recent burglaries in Des Plaines and Buffalo Grove. If you have any information you can contact the Palos Park Police Department at 708-671-3770.
