Palos Hills Police Blotter: Theft From Vehicles, Fight Over Facebook, Marijuana Arrest

An overview of crimes that occurred in Palos Hills from Sept. 7 to Sept. 12.

Sept. 8

A resident of the 8200 block of Juniper Court reported that at about 8 p.m., several unknown people walked onto her porch and took two white plastic chairs, police said.

David Trapp, 18, of Palos Hills, was arrested for possession of cannabis at about 9 p.m. Residents of Cobblestone Court reported a suspicious vehicle, and after officers arrived to investigate, Trapp admitted to having marijuana on him, police said.

Sept. 9

A burglar alarm was triggered around 3:40 a.m. at Palos Pantry, 8100 W. 111th Street, after the front door glass was broken, police said. Detectives are investigating the incident.

A male juvenile was arrested at Stagg High School for battery after striking another student in the face while arguing over comments made on Facebook, police said.

Sept. 11

James M. Greene, 22, of Oak Lawn, was arrested for driving under the influence at about 4 a.m. in the 10300 block of Roberts Road. Greene was stopped for improper lane usage and failed a field sobriety test, police said.

A wallet, lottery tickets and GPS unit were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 10300 block of 83rd Avenue at 11 a.m., police said. Detectives are investigating.

An iPod, knife, and an overnight bag were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle around 11 a.m. on the 9200 block of South Road, police said. Detectives are investigating.

Sept. 12

Two male juveniles were charged with underage consumption of alcohol after police responded to a disturbance on Cour De La Reine at about 11:30 a.m. The juveniles were drinking alcohol and were combative with officers upon their arrival, police said.

Brett Sollis, 18, of Palos Hills, was arrested for possession of cannabis at about 3 p.m. Police were dispatched to Cour De La Reine, and when they arrived, Sollis began to run, police said. Officers stopped Sollis and found five clear white bags containing cannabis, police said.

Several garbage cans were spray painted in the area of the 8400 block of West 111th Street, police said.
