Palos Hills Police Blotter: Football Fights, Asleep at the Wheel and Marijuana Possession

Palos Hills police reports, Jan. 13-17

Monday, Jan. 17

DUI in Drive

Ayman Atieh, 23, of Palos Hills, was charged with driving under the influence, operation of an uninsured vehicle and improper parking. Atieh was found asleep at the stoplight on 107th Street and Roberts Road at about 2:45 a.m. with his foot on the brake and the car in gear, police said.

Sunday, Jan. 16

Football and Fights

Three men were taken to after getting into a fight while watching a football game. The men were watching the game at a home on the 10700 block of Olympia Circle and, due to their level of intoxication and injuries, were taken to the hospital, police said. No complaints were filed.

Drunken Antics

An intoxicated male tried entering the car of a woman who did not know him in the parking lot of Durbin's, 10154 Roberts Road, police said. No complaints were signed.  

Friday, Jan. 14

Home Burglary

Jewelry, two cameras, $300 in cash and a cell phone were reported missing from a home on Cobblestone Court, police said.  No forced entry was found and police are investigating.

Thursday, Jan. 13

Theft at Care Center

Clothing and $360 were reported missing from a resident's room at Palos Extended Care, 10426 Roberts Road, police said.

Police Chase and Marijuana Posession

Tareq Shaabneh, 24, of Palos Hills, was charged with fleeing and eluding, posession of marijuana, operating a vehicle without insurance and three traffic violations. Shaabneh was seen blowing through stop signs around 7:30 p.m., police said. When a traffic stop was attempted, he fled at a high rate of speed until several police cars were able to stop him at 103rd Street and Harlem Avenue, according to officers. Police said four grams of marijuana were found inside his vehicle.

Fight at Stagg

Two female students were charged with disorderly conduct after getting into a fight at . The girls began fighting when one pushed the other during an argument, police said.
