Palos Hills Police Blotter: Boat Theft, Burglary, DUI

An overview of crimes that occurred in Palos Hills between Aug. 24 and Aug. 29.

A woman on the 10600 block of 83rd Avenue returned to her home on Aug. 25 after leaving for vacation on Aug. 22. Upon returning home, the woman found her Ford pickup truck missing, police said. Detectives are investigating.

A bicycle was stolen from a home on Cour De La Reine on Aug. 24, police said.

On Aug. 25 police responded to a residential burglary on the 10000 block of South Hill Terrace. The resident reported that forced entry was made into the home and five pairs of gym shoes were taken, police said. Detectives are investigating.

Two juveniles were arrested and charged with battery after getting into a fight while playing softball in the area around Cour Marquis on Aug. 25, police said.

On Aug. 25 around 11:15 p.m. Christopher Conley, 25, of Chicago, was stopped for speeding and ignoring a red light on the 8000 block of 111th Street, police said. After stopping Conley, police say they observed cannabis and drug equipment inside the vehicle in plain sight. Conley was charged with possession of drug equipment, possession of cannabis, open alcohol inside a vehicle and three vehicle violations. Conley also had an in-state warrant, police said.

Kenneth Foyle, 42, of Worth, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol on Aug. 26 at 11:30 p.m. Foyle was stopped at the 11000 block of Roberts Road while driving at a high rate of speed and for improper lane usage, police said. Foyle failed to properly perform a field sobriety test, police said.

On August 27 police responded to a disturbance at Durbin's at 10154 S. Roberts Road.  An employee wanted assistance in removing a patron after he had punched an employee, police said. No complaints were signed.

A resident of the 10000 block of Walnut Terrace called police after an unidentified person threw a coffee cup at him through an open sliding glass window on Aug. 29 at 3:00 a.m., police said. Detectives are investigating the incident.

A juvenile male was charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle on Aug. 29 at about 4:15 a.m. The juvenile was found inside a vehicle that did not belong to him and was very combative and intoxicated, police said.

A resident of the 10400 block of 74th Avenue reported on Aug. 29 at 7:45 a.m. that her 2002 Rinker Mercruiser 270 boat was taken from her backyard, police said. A bolt was removed from the rear yard gate in order to gain access, police said. Detectives are investigating.
