Palos Heights Police Involved in Search

On Sept. 6 Palos Heights police worked with Illinois State Police to hunt for a suspect who fled on foot after crashing into a fire hydrant.

Palos Heights Police were on the hunt last night for a possibly armed man after a pursuit involving the Illinois State Police.

State troopers attempted to stop a vehicle Monday evening on 127th Street for what was initially a traffic violation, police said. The man did not stop and drove until the 6800 block of 127th Street where he lost control of his vehicle and hit a fire hydrant in a resident's front yard.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot. State troopers did not see any weapons, but believed the suspect could possibly have been armed, police said.
