Palos Heights Police Blotter: Swaying Car; Marijuana Pipe in Plain View

Update: Christine O'Reilly was found not guilty of driving under the influence and the the improper lane use and uninsured use of a vehicle charges were dropped on Nov. 14, 2011.

Christine P. O’Reilly, 23, of the 0-100 block of Woodland Trail in Palos Park, was charged with driving under the influence, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage. said they stopped O’Reilly’s car in the 7000 block of 131st Street at 1:59 a.m. for "swaying" between lanes and striking the center median. O'Reilly failed field sobriety tests, according to the report.

Pipe, Marijuana Found

Lukas L. Dempsey, 24, of the 2700 block of Homan Avenue in Chicago, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, expired registration and failure to wear a seat belt. Police said they stopped Dempsey’s car in the 13100 block of Harlem Avenue at 8:11 p.m. for driving without a seat belt and saw a pipe in plain view as they approached the driver's side window. Police searched the car and also found a small amount of marijuana, according to the report.
