Roscoe W. Harnois, 33, of the 4600 block of 89th Place in Hometown, was charged with retail theft. Police said Harnois left a grocery in the 6400 block of Ridgeland Avenue around 10:30 p.m. with $121 worth of laundry detergent and dog food. A witness told police that Harnois wheeled his cart out of the building without paying and Palos Heights verified it through the store's video surveillance.

Marijuana Pipe Found
William J. Coffey, 40, of the 7100 block of Coachwood Trail in Tinley Park, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to wear a seat belt. Police said they stopped Coffey’s car in the 12700 block of Harlem Avenue around 12:45 a.m. for driving without a seat belt and found a pipe with residual marijuana.
Incident Reports
- Between June 1 and June 17 someone attempted to pry open a rear service door in the 12100 block of Ridgeland Avenue, causing damage to the door, police said.
- Between 8:45 a.m. and 3 p.m. on June 17 the window of a car parked in the 7100 block of 127th Street was shattered and a purse stolen, police said. Another purse was reported stolen from the shattered window of a car parked in the 13200 block of 76th Avenue sometime between noon and 3:30 p.m. of the same day.
