Palos Heights Police Blotter: Furniture Thrown Inside Police Station

Palos Heights police reports, Dec. 19-24

SATURDAY, DEC. 24

Thrown Furniture

Police said they stopped a teen-agers car in the 13000 block of Harlem Avenue 3:27 a.m. for driving 53 in a 35 mph zone and smelled alcohol.

A 17-year-old girl was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, illegal transportation of alcohol and speeding. Passengers Erick R. Zakula, 20, of the 500 block of 46th Place in Chicago, and a 17-year-old boy were also charged with illegal consumption of alcohol.

An hour after the arrest, at the police station, Zakula threw furniture at a wall, police said. He was additionally charged with criminal damage to property.

Southwest DUI

Thomas M. Elliott, 39, of 14200 block of Union Avenue in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage and failure to yield proper drive. Police said they stopped Elliott’s car in the 11800 block of Southwest Highway at 12:14 a.m. after quickly pulling out of a parking lot and changing lanes without a signal. He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests, according to the report.

MONDAY, DEC. 19

Child Endangerment

Carolyn Carr, 46, of the 10300 block of Mansfield Avenue in Oak Lawn, was charged with child endangerment. Police said they arrested Carr outside St. Alexander Parish around 7:45 p.m. after they were told she had been drinking and then driving with children in her car.
