Palos Heights Police Blotter: Drunken Driver Found Sleeping in Ditch

Palos Heights police reports, March 10-12

Saturday, March 12

Sleeper

A Chicago man was arrested after he drove his car a ditch in the 6400 block of 127th Street, according to police.

Police said they found Antoine Garrett, 36, of the 3700 block of Douglas Boulevard, asleep behind the wheel around 6:45 p.m. He was charged with DUI.

No one was reported injured. Police did not know as of Tuesday the extent of damages to Garrett's car or the area's landscaping.

thursday, March 10

Drifter

Zachary R. Platt, 27, of the 5200 block of James Lane in Crestwood, was charged with DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding. Police said they stopped Platt's car in the 13000 block of Harlem Avenue around 2:15 a.m. for drifting into an oncoming traffic lane.

Speeder

Scott A. Martinek, 52, of the 8400 block of Paloma Drive in Orland Park, was charged with DUI and speeding. Police said they stopped Martinek's car in the 6900 block of 127th Street around 11:30 p.m. for driving 57 mph in a 35 mph zone.
