Palos Heights Police Blotter: Drunk Driver Hits Car, Pot Possession

Palos Heights police reports, June 7 - 9.

SATURDAY, JUNE 9

Pot Possession

Hasan Abdelmuhdi, 40, of the 8000 block of Thomas Street in Justice, was charged with possession of cannabis. He was stopped at 12:28 a.m. for speeding on Harlem Avenue, police said. Officers smelled marijuana and located the drug inside his car, police said. 

DUI on Harlem Avenue

Jose Nevarez, 27, of the 11700 block of Cranna Court in Orland Park, was charged with drunken driving. Police say he was stopped at 3:52 a.m. for speeding. He failed field sobriety tests, police said.

DUI Accident

Justin Helfert, 29, of the 13100 block of Timber Court, was charged with drunken driving. He was involved in a traffic accident where he hit a parked car at 2:56 a.m., police said.

Pipe Possession

Daniel Montalto, 26, og the 9200 block of W. 137th Street in Orland Park, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was stopped at 8:17 p.m. for texting while driving on 69th Court, police said. After an officer smelled burnt marijuana, he admitted to having a smoking pipe in his car, police said.
