Palos Heights Police Blotter: DUIs and Marijuana

SUNDAY, MAY 13 

DUI on 127th Street

Larry Simpson, 61, of the 1100 block of Mason in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence and driving without insurance. He was stopped at 11:23 a.m. for crossing lane lines, police said. He was unable to safely complete field sobriety tests, police said. 

SATURDAY, MAY 12

DUI on Harlem Avenue

Julia Larkin, 33, of the 15400 block of Orchard Lane in Oak Forest, was charged with driving under the influence. She was stopped at 3:05 a.m. in a seat belt safety check, police said. She failed field sobriety tests, police said. 

FRIDAY, MAY 11

Possession of Drug Equipment

Adael Sweis, 26, of the 10900 block of 140th Street, in Orland Park, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Sweis was parked in the Palos Heights Metra lot on Southwest Highway when an officer smelled burnt cannabis coming from his car, police said. A glass pipe with marijuana residue was found in his car, police said.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 9

DUI on Harlem Avenue

Dawid Gabrys, 28, of the 9100 block of Franklin Court in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence. He was stopped at 1:37 a.m. for speeding and lane violations and failed field sobriety tests, police said.

TUESDAY, MAY 8

DUI on Harlem Avenue

Karen Glasper, 38, of the 600 block of 33rd Street in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence, transportation of open alcohol and driving without insurance. She was stopped at 8:49 p.m. for speeding and failed a breath test, police said. 

Drugs and Driving

Jonathon Sambor, 25, of the 9600 block of Kolin in Oak Lawn, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs. He was stopped for speeding at 3:48 a.m. at 129th Street and Harlem Avenue, police said. Officers detected an odor of burnt cannabis and he refused all field sobriety tests, police said.
