Pair Accused of Heroin Possession: Blotter

Palos Hills police reports, April 9-12.

FRIDAY, APRIL 12

Alleged Heroin Possession

Two men were charged with possession of a controlled substance, according to a report. Michael Kelly, 27, of Palos Hills, and Paul Paleothodoros, 26, of Palos Hills, are accused of having heroin. Palos Hills police were assisting Orland Hills police regarding a retail theft that had occurred at Wal-Mart. A vehicle matching the description of one seen in Orland Hills was found in the 10300 block of 82nd Avenue. When police spoke with the two men living there, an officer reported seeing one man hand an item to the other. The item later tested positive as heroin. After the pair were arrested, police found a total of 6 pills.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10

DUI Charge

Donald Gambill, 54, of Palos Hills, was charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol and traffic offenses, according to a report. Gambill was stopped at about 6 p.m. on 99th Street near 88th Avenue for going 35mph in a 20mph zone. During a traffic stop, an officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol. Gambill admitted to drinking, police said. He was arrested after taking field sobriety tests. An open can of beer was found inside the vehicle. He is due in Bridgeview court on April 23.

TUESDAY, APRIL 9

Possession of Marijuana

Samuel Marye, 44, of Country Club Hills, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug equipment and traffic violations, according to a report. Marye was waiting for a red light at about 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 111th Street and Roberts Road. Police reported smelling an odor of marijuana coming from his car. He appeared to be smoking what looked like marijuana, police said. During a traffic stop, Marye turned over a plastic bag that contained 5 grams of what tests determined to be marijuana. He is due in Bridgeview court on May 13.
