Orland Park Man Charged with Palos Heights Home Invasion

Bail for Ralph Grajek, 46, was set at $200,000 on Wednesday. He is accused of striking a woman and ripping out a telephone line after pushing his way into the home.

An Orland Park man was charged Wednesday with home invasion after police said he forced his way into an unincorporated Palos Heights home.

Ralph Grajek, 46, appeared in Bridgeview bond court Wednesday, according the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. His bail was set at $200,000.

Grajek is accused of forcing his way into the house on 128th Street at around 12:45 a.m. Feb. 17, hitting a woman who was home several times in the face and ripping a telephone line out of the wall when she tried to call 911, police said.

After fleeing in a black GMC Jimmy, Grajek was arrested several days later on Feb. 25 after a manhunt led police to Chicago Ridge, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He was taken into custody without incident.

Grajek is due in Bridgeview court on April 1.
