Negotiations Ongoing For Orland Man Jailed on Sex Charges

Kevin Skaritka, who is accused of sex crimes in Orland Park and Palos Hills, will be back in court later this month.

Negotiations between prosecutors and the attorney for an Orland Park man facing a pair of unrelated sex cases are continuing.

Kevin Skaritka, 37, appeared at the Bridgeview courthouse Monday morning. His case was scheduled to go before Cook County Judge John Hynes again June 20.

Skaritka was supposed to go on trial in September for allegedly molesting—and exposing himself to—his girlfriend's teenage daughter while in Orland Park and in Palos Hills. But that case was pushed back when he caught new charges for allegedly attempting to exchange naked pictures with a 14-year-old girl in St. Louis.

The teen girl turned out out to be an undercover cop, police said. Skaritka was out on bond when he was allegedly trying to set up the picture swap with the "teen."

Skaritka actually did send a naked picture of himself, police said, as well as a second sexually explicit photo. On another occasion, he initiated a video chat where his face and nude body were exposed, police said. Skaritka allegedly requested nude photos in return.

Skaritka was taken into custody again after his second arrest and is being held in lieu of $2 million bond.
