Mill Creek Bridge on 119th Steet To Be Rebuilt, Will Close For Several Months

Palos Park drivers should take note of a several month long road closure.

drivers who use 119th Street might have to find a new route when a portion of the road is closed to facilitate the rebuilding of the Mill Creek Bridge.

The Illinois Department of Transportation project is expected to begin, weather permitting, on April 1, according to an IDOT news release. The expected completion date is July 31.

During those months the bridge will be completely rebuilt. The new bridge will look very similar to the one currently in place, said Village Manager Rick Boehm.

Traffic will be detoured to Route 83 from 86th and Kean avenues and will reconnect with 119th Street, the release said.

Vehicle access to homes and side streets to the east and west of Mill Creek will be maintained, but traffic will not be able to cross the creek.
