MANHUNT MONDAY: Have You Seen Vicente Ortiz?

Every Monday Patch highlights one of Cook County's most wanted fugitives.

This week’s fugitive focuses on Vicente Ortiz, who jumped bond after he was sentenced in absentia for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.

According to the charge on the Cook County Sheriff’s Police website:

"Otiz was always a convicted felon when he began sexually assaulting the victim when he was 52 and she was 12, until she turned 14. He threatened to kill her if she reported the incidents. Ortiz was senteced to 35 years in absentia after jumping bond. Previously, Ortiz was convicted in Houston of the attempted murder of his former girlfriend after he shot her and permanent blinded her when she tried to cut their relationship."

Ortiz, 67, is a male white Hispanic. He has black hair and brown eyes. His last known address was in the 4700 block of South Honore.
