Man Threatens to Stab Dog, Owner: Blotter

The two men were making small talk about dogs, when one pulled a weapon.

A Hickory Hills man faces charges of aggravated assault after another claims he pulled a knife and threatened to stab him—and his dog, too.

Frederick Kalvelage, 46, of Hickory Hills approached a man in the 10200 block of 86h Avenue. The two chatted briefly about dogs, and then Kalvelage allegedly brandished a knife, saying he'd hurt the man and his pooch.

The victim called police, and officers found Kalvelage walking several blocks from where the encounter took place. He was carrying a knife, and the victim said it was the same man who intimated at inflicting pain on him.
