Justice Driver Busted for Open Alcohol, DUI: Blotter

Lovetta E. Collins, 35, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence on Aug. 12, according to Palos Heights police.

A 35-year-old Justice woman was found with an open container of alcohol during a drunken driving stop, Palos Heights police said.

Lovetta E. Collins, of Hickory Trace Drive, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08, transporting an open container of alcohol and speeding, according to a report.

Police stopped a vehicle for speeding at about 1:54 a.m. on Aug. 12 in the 12700 block of South Harlem Avenue, the report states. An officer determined the driver, Collins, had been drinking.

Collins was arrested after taking tests for intoxication, the report states. She also took a breath test for her blood-alcohol level. During the stop, an officer found an alcohol inside the vehicle.

Collins is due on Sept. 13 in Bridgeview court.
