Home of Former Latin Kings Gang Member Targeted with Gunfire: Police

Police are searching for information about a shooting that happened around July 4.

A Palos Hills man and former gangbanger got a surprise involving a few extra holes in his ride on Independence Day.

Several bullets were fired into both his car parked in his driveway and at his home in the 10900 block of Eastwood Drive, according to police.

The man called police at about 11:20 a.m. on July 4, police said. He said he didn't notice the gunshots during the night because of fireworks going off in the area. During the investigation, the man admitted to be a former member of the Latin Kings and thought that was why his had been targeted.

State police evidence technicians dug out slugs and determined a .45 caliber gun was used, according to police.

Palos Hills detectives are looking for a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Dodge Durango, that might have been in the area when the shooting happened.

Anyone with information can contact the Palos Hills Police Department at 708-598-2992.
