Garage Fire Causes Minimal Damage, No Injuries

The fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes without causing damage to the attached house.

No one was injured when a fire was found in an attached garage at a Palos Hills house Monday afternoon.

The was called around 2 p.m. to a single-family house at 10345 81st Ct. about a garage fire, according to North Palos Battalion Chief Paul Mackin. Firefighters were able to knock out the flames in about 15 minutes after arriving, Mackin said.

Damage done within the garage can be repaired, and the fire didn't extend to the attached house, Mackin said.

"The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation at this time," Mackin wrote in an email.
