No Charges Coming for Elderly Man in Walmart Parking Lot Crash: Police

One witness told Patch that an elderly man was smashing his car into parked vehicles Tuesday afternoon.

Police do not expect an elderly man involved in a multi-car crash Tuesday afternoon to be charged.

A full report on a crash that happened at about 12:40 p.m. near the Bridgeview Walmart on Harlem Avenue wasn't immediately available. Bridgeview police confirmed that multiple ambulances were called to the crash.

An elderly man driving one of the cars involved was suffering from a medical issue, police said. According to a witness, he had smashed his car into several other cars parked in the lot. Firefighters reportedly brought out extrication tools at the scene of the crash.

Bridgeview police confirmed reports of a situation developing at Bridgeview Walmart, where an elderly man is driving erratically in the parking lot, according to a Facebook tip.

Emergency crews are working on a traffic accident just north of 103rd Street on Harlem Avenue.

Firefighters were bringing out extrication tools at around 12:45 p.m. and at least three ambulances were on scene then, according to CINS.
