Stop for One Headlight Leads to Paraphernalia Charge

Christie Czubik, 23, of the 16600 block of Stuart Ave. in Orland Park, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and an equipment violation, according to a report. Czubik's vehicle was stopped for only having one headlight at about 11:30 p.m. near 12200 S. Harlem Ave., police said. She then told the officer she had drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Cop Stops Man Who Tossed Soda Can

Daniel W. Taylor, 24, of the 1500 block of Cambria Court in Joliet, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possessing drug paraphernalia, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, following too close and littering from a vehicle, according to a report. The driver was spotted tossing a soda can out of his vehicle's window at about 2:30 a.m. near 12700 S. Harlem Ave. A police officer said he could smell a strong odor of alcohol on the driver, who also had bloodshot eyes. Taylor failed a field sobriety test, police said. A multicolored glass pipe with burnt cannabis also was found in the vehicle. His bond was set at $3,000.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 28

Willow Springs Man Charged with Marijuana Possession

Craig P. Bicking, 22, of the 100 block of Hill Street in Willow Springs, was charged with possession of cannabis and improper lighting, according to a report. Bicking's vehicle was stopped at about 8:02 p.m. near 12200 S. Harlem Ave. after an officer spotted it driving with one headlight, police said. An investigation determined Bicking had marijuana in his possession, according to the report. His bond as set at $150.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 30

Orland Hills Man Faces DUI Charge

Majd D. Zayed, 22, of the 16900 block of South 92nd Avenue in Orland Hills, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license and speeding, according to a report. Zayed's vehicle was stopped for speeding at about 1:58 a.m. near 12600 S. Harlem Ave., police said. He was then arrested for DUI. His bond was set at $3,000.
