Blue Island Driver Faces DUI Charge

Jonathan Zaragoza, 24, of the 2200 block of Grove Street in Blue Island, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and driving without insurance, according to a police report. Police performed a traffic stop on Zaragoza, during which they noticed the driver had bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol. He failed field sobriety tests and was booked.

Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Paraphernalia Charge

Matthew S. Melling, 33, of the 6200 block of West 91st Street in Oak Lawn, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance, according to a report. Melling's car was stopped after it was found the driver had a suspended license. Police later found drug paraphernalia.
