Driver Charged in Monday Crash that Hospitalized Four

Palos Park police are holding a man awaiting a bond hearing on Tuesday.

A Bridgeview man has been charged in an early morning, drunk driving crash in Palos Park that sent four people to the hospital, police said Monday afternoon.

Scott M. Staniszewski, 26, of the 9200 block of Pembrook, is scheduled to appear in a Bridgeview courtroom for a bond hearing Tuesday, police said. He is charged with disobeying a traffic control device, failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash and felony driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police were called to a crash at around 2:06 a.m. Monday on Route 45 near 123rd Street. Police said Staniszewski's car had struck another car that had four passengers inside. The second car also had struck the Hackney’s Restaurant sign and caused significant damage.

Three of the passengers were taken to while the fourth, who was seriously injured, was rushed to Christ Medical Center.
