Chicago Man Drove While Under the Influence: Blotter

Twenty-year-old Michael Krainis was stopped in the early morning of Sept. 26 for speeding, according to a report. Police said he was driving drunk.

Police stopped a Chicago man they say was speeding and showed signs of being intoxicated.

Michael A. Krainis, 20, of the 6000 block of South Kenneth Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08 and speeding, according to a Palos Heights police report.

Krainis was stopped at about 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 26 in the 12000 block of South College Drive when cops saw his car speeding, the report states. Police said he showed signs that he had been drinking.

After failing tests for sobreity, Krainis also provided a breath sample over the legal limit, the report states.

Bail was set at $3,000. Krainis is due on Oct. 22 in Bridgeview court.
