Speeding Stop Leads to Marijuana Possession Charge
Brandon M. Mohr, 23, of the 5200 block of South Menard Avenue in Chicago was charged with possession of marijuana, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding, according to a report. Police stopped a vehicle at around 12:38 a.m. near 12000 S. Harlem Ave. driven by Mohr that they said was speeding. During the stop, police allegedly discovered marijuana. Mohr also was unable to give proof that he had insurance for the vehicle. He was arrested, charged and given a $2,000 bond.

Seatbelt Sting Nets Drug, DUI Charges for KY Man
Dirk Ferguson, 34, of the 200 block of Ladder Branch Road in Combs, KY, was charged with possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failing to wear a seatbelt and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to a police report. Ferguson's vehicle was stopped in a "seatbelt enforcement zone." Police said he showed signs of possible impairment and that they could smell an odor of burnt cannabis. Ferguson also performed field sobriety tests. He was arrested, charged and given a $3,000 bond.

Driver Forgets to Use Turn Signal
David Papineau, 32, of the 5100 block of West Deerpath Road in Oak Forest, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and failing to signal a turn, according to a report. Police said they stopped Papineau's vehicle at 4:16 p.m. near 12700 S. Harlem Ave. after noticing it failed to signal a turn. After the driver was arrested, police reportedly discovered the marijuana during a search of the vehicle.
