Blotter: Tires Jacked from Sports Car, Bank Window Smashed

Palos Hills police reports, Aug. 14–18.

TUESDAY, AUG. 14

Tire Slashed on 102nd Terrace

A woman told police she found the right, rear tire of her vehicle slashed. Police were called around 9:15 a.m. to the area of 8500 West 102nd Terrace where the car had been parked since midnight.

Drunk Man Wanders Off

Police were called at about 10 a.m. to the area of 8300 West 103rd Street where a drunk man was spotted wandering in the area. When officers arrived, they were unable to find him.

Basement Window Broken

Someone broke a basement window in the 10500 block of 83rd Avenue. When police arrived at about 3 p.m., the victim said no one had entered the basement despite breaking the window.

THURSDAY, AUG. 16

Bank Window Smashed

A window at the Bank of America branch at 10260 S. Roberts Road was smashed. Police were called at about 8:30 a.m. and were unable to find anything in the area that was used to break the window.

Purse, $500 Cash Swiped from Car

A purse with about $700, costume jewelry and Medicare and Social Security cards was reported missing from a car in the 10000 block of 86th Court. Police spoke with the owner of the purse at about 1:50 p.m. The car did not appear to have been broken into.

FRIDAY, AUG. 17

Camera & Coins Stolen from Home

A container of coins and a camera were reported missing from a closet at a house in the 9800 block of Gladys Lane. The homeowner told police, who arrived at about 5:30 p.m., he had noticed the items were gone. There were no signs of a break in.

SATURDAY, AUG. 18

Tires Taken from Dodge

Police were called at about 3 a.m. to the 8500 block of Walnut Terrance on a report of a theft. When the arrived, officers found a Dodge Challenger missing its wheels.
