65-Year-Old Palos Hills Woman Charged With DUI, Heroin Possession

The woman was pulled over by police, who said they discovered five small bags of heroin on her.

A 65-year-old Palos Hills woman was arrested in River Forest after police said they pulled her over and discovered that she was both intoxicated and carrying five small bags of heroin.

According to River Forest police, an officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation in the area of Chicago Ave. and Harlem on Dec. 22 at 4 a.m.. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver appeared to be exhibiting signs of intoxication, police said. The driver, identified as Mary E. Jackson, failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

Further investigation revealed that Jackson was in possession of five small bags of heroin weighing a total of 3.8 grams, police said. Jackson was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance, and other traffic offenses.
