3 Firefighters Hospitalized After Palos Park House Fire

All three firefighters have been released from the hospital.

Three firefighters we were hospitalized after battling a fire in a Palos Park home late Sunday night and all have now been released from the hospital.

The fire occurred on the 13200 block of S. 84th Court and the Palos Fire Protection District responded to the call. In the course of battling the blaze a large portion of ceiling fell on top of four firefighters, according to Fire Chief Patrick Gericke.

One of the firefighters was not injured, two were transported to Palos Community Hospital where they were treated and released. The fourth firefighter was taken to Christ Hospital and was released yesterday. None of the injuries were life threatening, Gericke said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
