1 Former Shepard Student Killed, 1 Injured in Crash
The Shepard community is mourning the loss of a former student. Another was critically injured in the crash.
An alumna of Shepard High School died and another was critically injured in a car crash in Indian Head Park Sunday evening.
Cassie Hense, 17, of the 5500 block of West Calumet Sag Road in Alsip died from injuries in the crash Sunday afternoon, Sun-Times Media reports. Hense was pronounced dead at 5 p.m., following the crash near Wolf Road and 70th Place. Her death was ruled an accident, according to the report. A second former student Jose Flores was also in the car, and was critically injured.
Hense graduated from the school after the fall semester; Flores graduated in june.
It's unclear who was driving at the time of the accident.
