Dr. Dubec announces retirement; Search for new Palos 118 superintendent begins

The Palos 118 Board of Education is beginning the process of searching for a new superintendent.  Dr. Joseph M. Dubec, who has served as superintendent for the past eight years, has announced his retirement at the end of this school year.

Dr. Dubec has been instrumental in steering Palos 118 to balanced budgets, high student performance, and expanded technology support for instruction. He told the Board of Education that it has been his privilege to serve the Palos 118 community, and that he appreciates the confidence the board has placed in him.

The Board of Education has employed the firm of HYA to assist with the search for the new superintendent.  Input from the Palos 118 community is being sought regarding the future needs for Palos 118 schools, as well as the strengths and characteristics desired in a new superintendent.  An online survey at https://survey.ecragroup.com/limesurvey/index.php/322485/lang-en regarding qualities of the future superintendent will be available through November 5, 2013.  This anonymous survey can also be accessed on the district website.  Leadership profile results will be compiled by HYA, and results will be reported on the district website as part of the search process.
