Palos West Celebrates Earth Day

Students at Palos West marked Earth Day last week by working outside to clean and spruce up their school.

Students at Palos West marked Earth Day last Thursday by working outside to clean and spruce up their school.  Spreading mulch, weeding, and picking up trash were all part of beautification efforts for the school grounds. Fifth grade teacher, Jack Hrymak spearheads West's Earth Day efforts each year.

“It’s my favorite day of the year here at Palos West,” Principal Dr. Ron Cozza said, “They really work hard, and I enjoy seeing the kids take pride in their school.”  Additionally, West held an Earth Day Parade on Friday where students paraded custom creations out of recycled objects including hats, musical instruments, and other gadgets throughout the school in the spirit of Earth Day.
