Palos East 5th Graders Lend a Helping Paw to Rescue Organization

With inspiration from a fellow student, Palos East fifth graders collect supplies for a dog rescue operation last month.

Collars, tennis balls, peanut butter, and puppy food were just a few of the supplies Palos East fifth graders collected for Angel 4 Cause Dog Rescue in Burr Ridge last month.

The project began with Angela Turner’s fifth grade class, through the inspiration of Turner’s student, Taylor Fiala, and spread throughout the entire fifth grade.

Fiala and her family are volunteers at the dog rescue operation founded by Pat Stryszak, who runs Angel 4 Cause out of her home.  The organization’s mission is to rescue homeless, abandoned, and abused dogs, and place them in loving and stable homes.

Stryszak is also a foster parent, and uses the dogs she rescues as therapy for her foster children.  Earlier last month, Stryszak visited the class to talk about rescuing dogs before the drive began.

Several students were so moved, they volunteered to help at the rescue home later this spring.  For more information about the non-profit dog rescue operation, contact www.angel4causerescue.com.
