Public invited to tour Hospitaller Pavilion at Palos Community Hospital

An open house, scheduled for Sunday, March 3, offers area residents a behind-the-scenes look at the new Hospitaller Pavilion at Palos Community Hospital.

The local community will have an opportunity to tour the new Hospitaller Pavilion at Palos Community Hospital from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 3. The addition, which repositions the entrance to the north side of the campus, nearly doubles the size of the existing hospital and allows Palos to significantly expand its mission to offer the most advanced and comprehensive health care services available.

The Hospitaller Pavilion is designed to create a more soothing and therapeutic healing environment for patients and a more functionally efficient facility for physicians and staff.

Those attending the free event will have the opportunity to see areas that will be off-limits to the general public once the pavilion opens March 19.

The self-guided hospital tour will include:

  • The new main entrance and spacious lobby.
  • The private patient rooms feature hardwood-like floors, soft furnishings, warm wood accents and a soothing color palette.  Each room offers some of the most advanced health care technologies available.
  • The Center for Short Stay Care is an innovative concept in hospital care that serves as a single point of entry for patients and their families. This consolidates 75 percent of our diagnostic and treatment procedures in one high-tech facility so tests and procedures are delivered more timely and efficiently.
  • The Intensive Care Unit offers 24 beds and decentralized telemetry monitoring throughout the hospital.
  • The advanced surgical suites include the state-of-the-art Hybrid Room – the only one of its kind in the southwest suburbs. This unique dual-procedure surgical suite is equipped to accommodate both open and closed procedures. With CT scan and ultrasound technologies available in the same space, the Hybrid Room becomes a one-stop shop for patients requiring interventional radiological, vascular, cardiac and orthopaedic procedures, thereby reducing surgical time and lowering any inherent risks.

Registration is required. Please call (708) 226-2300 to confirm attendance for the tour.
