Palos Medical Group Welcomes OB/GYN Megan DeJong, M.D.

Palos Medical Group is pleased to announce the addition of Megan DeJong, M.D., to it’s practice. Dr. DeJong specializes in all areas of obstetrics and gynecology, and treats a broad range of women’s health issues in patients of all ages. She has special interests in general obstetrics and pregnancy, abnormal bleeding, cervical cancer prevention, and robotic and minimally invasive surgery. She also is certified in the practice of robotic surgery.

At the core of Dr. DeJong’s philosophy of care is the patient. “Most women spend their whole lives taking care of their families,” she says. “It is a special privilege to care for and empower these women. I may meet a young woman when she comes in for her first gynecological exam, take care of her through the birth of her first child and then follow her into menopause. I have the opportunity to grow with my patients and really get to know them, and one of my guiding principals is to listen before I speak. Every story is different and every patient should be treated as an individual.”

Born in LaGrange and raised in Orland Park, Dr. DeJong comes from a family of physicians, all of whom practice right here in the southwest suburbs. She attended Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. She received her doctorate and completed her residency at Loyola University in Maywood.
