Palos Community Hospital Announces Women’s Day 2012 Line Up

Michelle Segar,Ph.D., will be the keynote speaker at Palos Community Hospital’s tenth annual Women’s Day. The event, co-sponsored by Palos Health & Fitness Center, will offer a morning focused on women’s health and well-being with a variety of educational experiences and interactive fitness demonstrations.

Learn how wellness can help you be more effective, loving and happy in your daily life in this inspiring and empowering message from keynote speaker Michelle Segar, Ph.D., who has been featured in numerous publications including the New York Times, Shape and Self. Dr. Segar is a researcher at the Institute for Research on Women and Gender at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Segar is a New York Times best-selling author and an internationally recognized expert, physician and author in the fields of nutrition, stress and fitness. Her keynote presentation will provide participants with a three-point plan to begin a physical and mental transformation toward a healthier lifestyle that can be maintained for years to come.

Women’s Day 2012 will take place from 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday, September 29, at Palos Health & Fitness Center, 15430 West Avenue, Orland Park. Other presenters include Yasemin Ozcan M.D., a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation, on the latest in women’s health. Family Practice Physician Rachel Zurek, D.O., of Palos Medical Group will discuss the keys to success for short- and long-term weight loss. John Principe, M.D., internal medicine physician, will present on the importance of disease prevention.

“We’re excited to continue to bring a dynamic and interactive event year after year,” says JoAnn McGovern, manager of Women’s Services, Radiology. “This year we are focusing providing women with information they can use daily to live healthier lives and improve the quality of life throughout its duration.”
