Funeral Services Set for Shepard Grad Killed in Crash

Visitation and funeral services have been set for Cassie Hense, a 17-year-old Alsip resident and Shepard High School graduate killed in a crash Sunday.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 3, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Schmaedeke Funeral Home, 10701 Harlem Ave. in Worth. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 4, beginning at 9:15 at the funeral home, followed by Mass at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Ridge, 10820 S. Oxford in Chicago Ridge.

Hense was killed on impact when she apparently lost control of her car while headed south on Wolf Road about 2:40 p.m., Sun-Times Media reports. It appeared Hense was attempting to pass a vehicle when another vehicle in the northbound lane approached, according to the report. 

Her friends have started an online fund to help cover funeral expenses.
