A memorial Mass will be celebrated for Donald W. Hodgman Sr., 87, on Thursday, May 22 at Incarnation Catholic Church in Palos Heights.
Mr. Hodgman, a U.S. Navy veteran, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Mr. Hodgman was a commander in the Office of Naval Intelligence and served in the Navy Reserve for 25 years. He grew up on Chicago's South Side, attending Little Flower Parish and Quigley High School. He earned a Masters degree in Philosophy and Theology at St. Mary of the Lake College in Mundelein and a degree in Electrical Engineering from Loyola University in Chicago.
Mr. Hodgman worked as a licensed electrician, electrical contractor, estimator, instructor for IBEW, Local 134, CEO of electrical construction companies Gilbert-Hodgman, Inc. and Synergistics Inc. in the city of Chicago.
Mr. Hodgman enjoyed life, and had a great sense of humor. He was a beloved husband, devoted father, loving grandfather and friend of many. The memorial Mass takes place Thursday, May 22, 9:30 a.m. at Incarnation Catholic Church, 5757 W. 127 St., Palos Heights.
Interment of ashes will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.» via Legacy.com
