Attack 14s Ace Another Volleyball Tournament

Palos Park volleyball setter helps Attack club team win weekend tournament at Victor J. Andrew High School.

The Attack Volleyball Club, based in Orland Park, is celebrating another championship.

With the help of setter Cara Mahoney of Palos Park, the 14 Select team earned a first place title on January 20 in the Attack Invitational held at Victor J. Andrew High School in Tinley Park.

The 13s and 14s bracket included eight teams from the Chicago area.

“The girls really showed up to play. They breezed through pool play only allowing one team to score over 10 points,” said Coach Adam Sieger. “In the championship game we played a tough team, but our setters, Madeline Marrow and Cara Mahoney, were really efficient allowing us to have a potent defense. This was a great tournament win, and we look forward to a tough schedule in the Windy City Power League."

In late December, the team won the Altitude Winter VolleyFest in Merrillville, Indiana.
