Moraine Valley Hosting Business Legal Issues Seminar

New and existing business owners can get answers to their questions regarding the legal issues.

New and existing business owners can get answers to their questions regarding the legal issues of operating a business during the Business Legal Issues Seminar at Moraine Valley Community College on Thursday, February 23, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Two presentations will be offered in Moraine Room 3 in the Moraine Business and Conference Center, on campus, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills. The cost to attend is $20 and includes continental breakfast.

Paul Lechner, a tax attorney and CPA providing business and transaction diligence services to privately owned business owners, will present “Business Succession Planning – The Elephant in the Room.” Succession planning should be a top priority for any firm, yet only 31 percent of business owners have a plan in place.

David A. Szumigalski, a financial advisor, MBA, CPA, at K&K Financial Services, will present “Choices of Legal Entities – Legal Structures and Issues Faced by Independent Contractors.” He will share his 21 years of experience in tax, accounting and finance with a particular emphasis on both new and small businesses, as well as closely held companies.
