It's Fall at Marist!

As we approach Halloween, it's all treats and no tricks for Marist students. Their hardwork is paying off in improved grades, first place finishes in academics and athletics, flourishing activities and unmatched community service. Their "treats" or accolades are well deserved and there is plenty more to come this year. 

-Football played in Cincinnati this past weekend, and returned home with a 27-12 win over Withrow and an 8-1 regular season record, and a share of the ESCC Conference Championship. They play Lyons Township in the first round of state playoffs this Friday at Marist at 7:30pm. Tickets are $5 and will be on sale Wednesday and Thursday. It's a blackout, so please wear black!

-Volleyball competed in the nationally ranked Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix, Ariz., and came home with the championship title in the highest division. The team started its road to state with a regional semi-final win against Bloom at Lincoln-Way East. Tonight the girls will play for the regional title at 6pm at Lincoln-Way North versus Lincoln Way Central.

-It was another great weekend for our running RedHawks. Maggie O'Loughlin captured her third regional title, as did the girls overall team. Kyle Hauser was the boys champion, too! Both teams will now compete in sectionals this Saturday at Midlothian Meadows, 157th and Pulaski at 8am.

-It was heartbreaker for varsity soccer on Saturday. They took a tough 1-0 loss to Reavis in overtime during the regional championship. It was a great season for the boys though, and they finished 15-8-4.

-Marist's math team won the first competition of the season, setting a tone for a great year to come!

-Marist will welcome students from Argentina on October 28 for a two-week stay. Marist families will host and the students will keep a busy schedule introducing them to American culture and the Marist community.
