Heide Wealth Management Group Bullish on Golf

When Dave Heide, Mark Anderson and Dan Jakuta, principals of Heide Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, located in Palos Heights, talk about being hooked on golf, they’re referring to more than one of their favorite leisure time pursuits. The investment advisory firm, with the help of Barcelona Creative Group, an integrated marketing firm also located in Palos Heights, uses their love of golf to help tell their story and strengthen their brand image.

“Why not golf?” says Dave Heide, who began his financial services career in 1990 and today, serves as the group’s Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer. In addition to being an avid golfer, Heide has always found golf and other sports to be extremely popular with many of the firm’s clients, who are individuals, families and institutions with $500,000 or more of investable assets.

In order to help Heide Wealth Management Group connect with potential clients who share their love for the game of golf, Barcelona Creative Group recommended that Heide use The Golf Channel to advertise on PGA, Champions and LPGA tournament broadcasts and other golf-related programming. “We always knew that sponsoring PGA tournament broadcasts could be a great way to reach our target market, but like other small businesses we thought the cost would be out of reach,” said Dave Heide. “When Tom and Juli Barcelona told us that the Comcast “Spotlight” affiliate makes a limited number of commercial spots on Golf Channel available to local advertisers, we told them to put together a plan that could reach cable households throughout the southwest suburbs and start working on a commercial.”

“Our entire team is excited about the potential for this type of advertising. We see this connection as an important part of our strategic direction over the next few years,” Heide added. When Dave Heide received an email from a client stating how good it felt to see the Heide Wealth Management Group commercial on a recent Golf Channel broadcast of the Valero Texas Open, it made everyone at the group feel good. “That’s exactly the kind of community feeling we were hoping to create,” observed Heide.
