Green Hills Library Receives Grant from Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity

The Green Hills Public Library District (serving the communities of Palos Hills & Hickory Hills), located at 8611 West 103rd Street in Palos Hills received a $28,875 grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity.  The project involved increasing the efficiency of the HVAC system through the installation of sensors and controls.  In addition, the Library District has been approved for a DCEO grant of $9,150 to replace existing interior light fixtures with energy efficient, long lasting LED fixtures and lamps.   The Library District has made a commitment to reduce energy consumption and associated costs while using technology wisely.
